As the founder of Center for Life Solutions, it has been my vision to develop a multi-disciplinary team that provides integrative wellness services for families. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Board Certified Diplomate.  I received my master’s in Clinical Social Work at Boston College in 1987 and have over 25 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings. I served as the Mental Health Director of an HIV/AIDS multi-disciplinary program in East Boston. I also received postgraduate training in Couples Therapy at The Family Institute of Cambridge, Child and Adolescent Treatment at BU, Group Therapy Certification.

Additionally, I have trained extensively with the Herb Benson Mind-Body Medical Institute. My interest in the connection of medicine and psychology led me to obtain postgraduate training in The Behavioral Medicine Department at Harvard Affiliated Cambridge Health Alliance where I developed skills in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Hypnosis, Biofeedback, Exposure Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, including individuals, couples, families, groups. I bring an integrated approach to my work, combining a sense of humor, warmth and compassion.

I completed my MSW in Clinical Social Work at Boston University, where I continue postgraduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). With 16 years of clinical practice, I provide therapy in a warmhearted style to adolescents and their families, young adults and adults. My clients typically seek help with anxiety, panic, depression, loss, relationship issues, stage of life issues or parenting challenges. I am devoted to cultivating a safe relational space in which clients feel understood. My role is to help you, at your own pace, recognize and transform self limiting thoughts and behaviors.

I draw from psychodynamic theory, CBT, exposure therapy, family systems, collaborative problem solving, relational, empowerment, and solution-focused models to broadly inform my work.

I am an LICSW and received my graduate degree in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin. I began my career in psychotherapy over 25 years ago, providing treatment for teens and adults across the lifespan in the greater Boston, Metrowest, and North Shore areas and at Cambridge Health Alliance, where I supported the Somerville Community for over ten years.

My interest in energy healing led to Reiki Master training and the study of energy psychology and Dr. Henry Grayson’s EFTA, an adaptation of the Emotional Freedom Technique. I am certified in the Tapas Acupressure Technique, an easy to use tool that assists in decreasing limiting beliefs, unwanted habits, and past traumatic events. I have deep appreciation for the clients I serve, and a keen awareness for the importance of kindness, compassion, and a sense of humor in all therapeutic relationships.

I bring a strong skill base and a variety of therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic, mind-body, cognitive-behavioral, trauma and family systems theories to my clinical practice. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful and healing environment in which to support your growth and rediscover strengths to heal from the past and prepare for the future.
