Mindfulness originates from ancient Buddhist practices and is the cultivation of present moment awareness. Research shows mindfulness to be effective for stress reduction and improving overall health and quality of life.
Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation during which one is completely in control and alert, yet deeply relaxed and open to positive suggestions. This state of consciousness may be achieved while engrossed in a book or movie. Hypnosis permits better and easier access to feelings, memories, creativity, problem solving capabilities and inner wisdom.

TAT is a complimentary healing method developed by Tapas Fleming, based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves the use of a simple pose known as the occipital hold which accesses pressure points on the face and head. It can be done in a traditional therapy setting and addresses unwanted habits, limiting beliefs, traumas, or self-sabotaging behaviors that interfere with the quality and enjoyment of one’s life. Attention is placed on emotional or physical conditions contributing to disharmony, and the client is guided through a process that supports the release of trapped energy, negative beliefs, or the “charge” of a trauma, and assists with rebalancing, integration, facilitating a sense of wholeness, safety, and peace.
Henry Grayson’s Adaptation of Emotional Freedom Technique also assists in clearing energetic blockages from the body and mind. The client uses light touch on their meridian points while holding an intention of healing. EFTA helps to identify limiting beliefs, negative thought patterns, and traumas while providing a sense of peace and relaxation. Both TAT and EFTA can be taught for personal use and are wonderful tools to add to a repertoire of healthy coping skills.
Our bodies are designed with an innate survival system to quickly detect a threat and respond by freezing, fleeing or fighting. The result is a set of multi-systemic reactions including:
